MARCUS GLENDALE SMITH

Marcus Glendale Smith entered this life on November 10, 1972 to Charlene Smith and Sherwood Bailey in Onancock, VA.

As a young boy he was his mother’s keeper and always close by her side warning all intruders to stay away. He did not want to share her with anyone including his kid sister. He was fondly known to his family and friends as “Biz”.

He was educated in the Accomack County Public School system and joined the work force as early as age 14. He was anxious to earn his own money and took great pride in working. He became a father early and was a great provider. There was nothing like his “Snook’ems”.

Marcus loved to watch sports with his late grandfather, Eddie G. Smith and especially wrestling. He became a great fan of football. He played for the Cowboys in the Little League but learned to love the Baltimore Ravens as a man. Nothing could remove him from the screen when they played.

He later became the father of another beautiful girl, Shay. His girls were his world.

Marcus had a contagious smile that lit up the room and a special place in the hearts of many. To know him was to love him.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: his mother, Charlene Smith and father, Sherwood Bailey; two daughters: Shontell “Snook” Cummings and Makayla “Shay” Smith; a grandson: Vontrell Trader; life partner: Alana White; sisters: Natasha Smith and Tara Bailey; brother: Sherwood Bailey; two special men in his life: Marvin Davis and Michael Matthews; three uncles: Douglas (Junell) Bundick, Carlton Smith, Morris Smith; three aunts: Valda Smith, Teresa Smith-Kellam all of Onancock, Linda (William) Hill of Grand Prairie, TX; a great uncle: Lilton (Eva) Pitts of Savageville, VA and a great aunt Joyce Garrison of Frankford, DE; a host of nieces and nephews and others that were brothers and sisters to him. They all hold special places in his heart. His legacy shall live on through his family.
