Jimmie Williams, a Gates County, North Carolina native, attended Roanoke Chowan Community College in Ahoskie, NC. After receiving a degree in Business Administration, he enrolled in John Tyler Community College Funeral Service program. Training was completed at WM. N. Bland Funeral Home, Petersburg, VA and Wharton Funeral Home, Accomac, VA. In 1978, he started working with his father-in-law, Edgar K. Wharton. He also managed Giddens Funeral Home in Painter, VA from 1994 to 1995.

Jimmie has several civic responsibilities including Chief Election Precinct Officer. He serves as a member of the Selective Service System, Eastern Shore Community College internship program, and PHI SIGMA ETTA Fraternity.
