WALTER LENELL WHITE

WALTER LENELL WHITE, the son of the late Frances White Johnson, Harold Roberts Strand and Charles Johnson, Sr., was born July 6, 1950 in Accomac, Virginia.

"Lenell", as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, started his educational experience at T.C. Walker Elementary and then Mary N. Smith High School. Always wanting at an early age to make his own money, he started driving a truck at the age of seventeen, a trait he learned from his dad (Harold). He did so until his health failed.

Lenell loved his family and all the family knew that he said what he meant and meant what he said. When his health began to fail, he came home to live with his mother, who was also ill. They took car of each other.

It was a joy to be around Lenell and his siblings. Just to see who could out talk the other, with the in-laws looking on.

Lenell loved to dress and you never saw him without a "Kango hat." He always said to his cousin, Diamond (Rev. Washington) that the women loved his "cool style of dress."

Lenell was called "Bill Cosby" by the family because of his love of children. He always kept a good looking truck and kept it shining. He passed that trait on to his younger brothers and cousins.

Lenell was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Johnson, father, Harold Strand, step-father, Charles Sr., sister, Phyllis White and brother, John Cornelius Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Beverly, daughter, Sacha, step-daughter, Saphiran, mother-in-law, Mary Tate; one grand-daughter, Sage; nine brothers, Charles Johnson, Sr. (Edwina), Elvis (Kim), Melvin (Katrice), Larry (Alice), Cleveland, Burnell (Linda), Carlos, and Harold Edward Dickerson (Dorothea); two sisters, Geraldine (George) and Theresa; one aunt, Mae Helen Smith; one aunt-in-law, Barbara Ann White; a special cousin-nurse-sheriff, Diamond (Rev. Washington); and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.

The Family would like to thank the staff of C-Wing at Riverside Shore Rehab at Parksley and the staff of Fresenics Medical Care of Nassawadox, Virginia.
