GERALDINE "BILLY" EWELL

Geraldine Ewell was born on May 12, 1939 to the late George Vance and Margaret Savage Ewell. She departed this life on June 22, 2020. “Billy” as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. After graduating from Mary N. Smith High School in 1956, she relocated to Chicago, IL and then to Philadelphia, PA where she was employed in the electronic industry.

She returned to Accomac in 1968 to care for her ailing parents and was employed in the poultry industries, both Holly Farms and Perdue. She later retired from Perdue.

Geraldine was a member of Macedonia A.M.E. church. There she was a member of the Gospel Choir before retiring after 34 years, Senior Choir, Missionary and Pastor’s Aid. She loved traveling and watching MLB Baseball, NBA Basketball, doing word puzzles, exercising and walking.

Geraldine was predeceased by one sister, Marcella Baker, two nephews, Wayne and Ronald Baker.

She is survived by one sister: Joan Martin of Bronx, NY, one niece: Valerie Ewell of Bronx, NY, two nephews: Douglas (Rita) Baker of Salisbury, MD and Dwight Baker of Atlanta, GA, and one uncle: Romo Ewell.
