WILLIAM HENRY GIDDENS

William Henry Giddens, beloved son of the late Woody and Gay Rufus Giddens was born July 5, 1936. William was affectionately known as “Pee Wee”. He departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2018 at his home in Accomac, VA.

Pee Wee received his formal education in the Worcester County Public Schools in Maryland. At an early age he was proudly employed as a long distance truck driver for the late Sam White. Pee Wee loved sharing stories of his trips to South Deerfield and Boston, Massachusetts. In 1954 he became gainfully employed at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility. He retired after 42 years of service while working in the Heating Ventilation & A/C shop. During his tenure at NASA, Pee Wee received several awards and citations. He was greatly admired by his peers.

Pee Wee had a penchant for clean cars, fine clothing, lawn care and taking care of others. He was outgoing, a wonderful handyman and thoroughly loved people.

On June 20, 1993, Pee Wee married his soul mate, the former Elsie Bailey. They thoroughly enjoyed their twenty-five years of marriage as evidenced by frequently shopping and numerous travel excursions including but not limited to Niagara Falls, the Bahamas and Atlantic City, NJ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Wydell Giddens, his sister, Geneva Giddens and two brothers, Elwood and Sammy Giddens.
