GWENDOLYN FIDDEMON

The LORD in His infinite wisdom called home to Glory, His faithful servant, Sister Gwendolyn Yolanda Fiddemon on June 9, 2017. Sister Gwen, as she was affectionately called, was born December 9, 1958 to Alphine Pettit and the late Irvin Bailey in Parksley, VA. Gwen was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and was employed with Perdue in Accomac, VA for 25 years until she was no longer able to work. As time went on, Gwen heard the preaching of the Gospel spoken through God’s servant, the late Bishop Jesse Hanshaw, Sr. Through the anointed Word brought forth by God’s servant, Gwen responded to GOD’s call for salvation with a resounding “Yes, Lord!” and from that moment she surrendered her life to Christ. From that day till the day of her transition into Heaven, Sister Gwen was reborn. She was saved, sanctified, baptized, filled with the Holy Ghost and with fire. Her favorite song was “Oh Jesus, My Sweet Jesus, Oh how I love Calling Your Name.”

Gwen continued her walk with God and was blessed to meet a young minister named Barry Trent Fiddemon, Sr. They were united in Holy Matrimony June 11, 1983. This union was blessed with a son whom she named Barry Trent Fiddemon, Jr. He preceded her in death. Gwen was also preceded in death by her sister, Sherlene Savage.

Sister Gwen enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and fellowshipping with the saints of God. She was first and foremost a lover of GOD and secondly a lover of life. She enjoyed living her life to the fullest. She will be deeply missed by those of us who were blessed to know and love her.

Sister Gwen leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband, Barry Fiddemon, and her mother Alpine (Wayne) Pettit both of Parksley, VA, three brothers; Zachary Savage and Irvin Bailey, both of Salisbury, Md, Kerwin Savage of Eden, MD, two whom she loved like a sister and brother; Debra Hall and spouse, Donnie Matthews and spouse of Exmore, VA; a devoted cousin loved like a sister, Cynthia (Oscar) Toney, nephews whom she loved deeply, Jabreon and Kejaun; an uncle, John Savage of Parksley, VA, an aunt, Lois Robinson of Salisbury, MD; a special cousin Santea (Donald) Taylor, Jr of Salisbury, MD; cousin, Tivecki and Shimeka Savage, nieces and nephews; Nakesh and Na’riyah Savage, Ciera, Laura Ann, Kerwin, Marcus and Cardell Mears and Zach, Jr, sister-in-laws; Arliece (Edward) Kellam of Temperanceville, VA, Eula Fiddemon of Atlantic, VA, Joyce Fiddemon of Norfolk, VA, Mabel (Stanley) Garrison of New Church, VA, Barbara (Ira) Stevenson of Snow Hill, MD and Annette Schoolfield; brother-in-laws, Cornelius (Alice) Goffin of Nelsonia, VA, Robert (Brandy) Fiddemon of Withams, VA and Fredrick Fiddemon (fiancée Netta) of Pocomoke City, MD.
