OTIS WALLACE CUTLER

Otis Wallace Cutler, aka (Pat), was born to the late Sophronia Cutler Mong on August 10, 1946. He departed this life on May 15, 2021. He was raised by John Henry and Anna Wharton in Whitesville, VA. His formal education was received in the public schools of Accomack County. Otis later graduated in 1964 from Ellendale high school in Ellendale, DE.

Otis served in the United States Army in Vietnam from December 1965 to December 1968 receiving an honorable discharge. For 32 years he worked for the United States Postal Service and continued his work journey after retireing for several businesses including security guard at Pimilico race track, construction jobs and Williams & Wharton Funeral Home.

Otis joined Metompkin Baptist Church, now New Metompkin Baptist Church under Pastor Ricordo Poulson, Sr. There he became a dedicated member who loved his pastor and had a unique compassion for his church serving as an usher, on the Men’s ministry, culinary ministry, Male Chours and whatever he could volunteer to do. He was a very quiet and private person but had a heart of gold always willing to help others.

He was preceded in death by brothers: Harry Mong, Roland, Dorsey, Bill and Luther Wharton; sons: Michael Anthony Cutler and Rev. Dr. Otis W. Cutler, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories; son, Mark Cutler, daughter, Sheneice Cutler, sister: Addie Chu’burks; brother: Cornell Wharton, Sr. grandchildren: Sierra, Jessica, Brandon, Chris, Destine’e, Jordan, Milan, Trinity, Christian, Cassidy and Peanut; 5 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tiffani Cutler and a loving companion Elnora and daughter Alexis Mason.
