ROLAND LINWOOD MATTHEWS

Roland Linwood Matthews departed this life on March 28, 2019 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. He was educated in the Accomack County school system and attended Macedonia A.M.E. Church in his earlier years. A mechanic by trade, he could take a car motor apart and put it back together with little effort. He was also a truck driver for a short period of time. Roland looked forward to the Matthews & Drummond Family Reunion each year and we could always count on him to show up with a bushel of crabs. He was very friendly to everyone that knew him.

He leaves behind to mourn his death, a nephew that was like a son to him, Terrance Bibbins (Tywanda); a daughter: Cynthia (Pinkie) Dennis; son: Kendall Bibbins (Betty Ann); seven grandchildren: Keeva, Kenya, Lakendrick, Kendrell, Ikaylah, Brady, Abby and Tre’Quan (Drady) who was like a grandson; six great-grandchildren: J’Kwon, Jayden, Thomas, Tayler, Ashely and Daryl; two sisters: Nancy (Clyde) and Sandy (James); one brother: Eddie Douglas; one aunt: Frances Mason; a devoted cousin: Connie Williams and a host of other nephews, nieces and cousins.
