ROSIE MAE BROWN

Rosie Mae Brown, 64, passed into eternal life on Thursday, April 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mappsville, VA and was educated in the Accomack County public school system. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mappsville, VA and was a hard-working woman, dedicating 46 years to Tyson Foods. She spent her last few years battling an illness and what a fight it was! She fought until her last breath.

She was born to the late Ella Lee Tann and James Shrieves. She leaves behind her three children Martina Brown, Travis Brown, and Monique Brown; five grandchildren, Kyle Brown, Tr'Daisa Brown, Jada Brown, Nahriah Johnson, and Lyric Brown; 1 sister, Edith Shrieves; and 1 brother, Robert Shrieves, a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Rosie was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Brown, Nancy Shrieves, Sadie Bailey, and Madeline Pettit; seven brothers, Thomas Whitley, Frank Whitley Jr., Henry Shrieves, James Shrieves Jr., Harry Lee Shrieves, Howard Shrieves Jr., and Paul Shrieves, Sr.

She always managed to find peace in the midst of any storm. Her strong and courageous spirit was admired by all that knew her. She always had a smile on her face, uplifting words to share, and stories to make you laugh until you cry. She found pleasure in life that money could not buy that many spent a lifetime seeking. She was a devoted grandmother and the love she had especially for her grandchildren will live on forever.

Rosie would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, with an offer she couldn't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, and eating delicious food to her heart's content. She left detailed instructions for her family and friends to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. A very special thank you is in order to all of her family, friends, Hospice Care, and one of her favorite nurses, Ms. Dana, for all of the love & support she received during her time of need.
