ADELAIDE MORAH BAILEY

ADELAIDE MORAH BAILEY, daughter of the late Jacob Bailey and Wavie Kellam-Bailey, entered eternal rest on Thursday morning, June 15, 2017 at her residence in Melfa, Virginia.

Adelaide was born on July 21, 1930 in Painter, Virginia. While Melfa is where she resided for most of her life, she has lived in New York and Delaware for some years throughout her life. Her work ethic was astounding, which included field work and her becoming a skilled laborer. Adelaide received her education in the public school system of Accomack County, Va. She confessed her belief in Christ and united with St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Pungoteague, Virginia.

Adelaide was a kind, loving, humble lady who enjoyed cooking and helping people. She was truly a one of a kind spiritual woman that loved her family and the gathering of family. In her leisure time, you could have caught her watching The Wheel of Fortune or The Steve Harvey Show and let’s not forget, her passion and love of doing a word search puzzle was enlightening to see she also loved crocheting and stitching.

Adelaide was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Bailey, her mother, Wavie Kellam-Bailey, four brothers, Oteal Bailey, Roland Bailey Sr., Harry Bailey and Jacob Bailey Jr., three sisters, Catherine Parker, Etrula Pinckney and Evelyn Bailey, a son, John Bailey, a son-in-law, Sylvester Bratton, a grandson, Jeremy Bailey, and a granddaughter, Babygirl Bailey.
